Leadership

Thursday, March 08, 2007

I have been contemplating what leadership means, what is encompassed in the word leadership, and ultmately what are leadership's ultimate goals. I have been placed in a leadership position by The Salvation Army and I believe ultimately by God. I have been here just over 8 months, are things better, are they worst, and are they the same? These are the questions that keep rolling around in mind. I am trying to figure this out, maybe I will not ever figure it out.

But...

Last couple of weeks it seems that everything has been going wrong. Everywhere I turn there is another problem, another issue, to solve to to deal with . I just don't understand what seems to be going wrong. Is it me? Is it ministry (leadership) style?

When things ultimately go wrong, I always end up blaming myself. I always placed the blame on my shoulders, on decisions that I have made, and on my own consequence as a whole. Am I the one to blame?

Not sure what else to write, other than there is going to be a drastic change in my life in the next couple of weeks with the arrival of my daughter. And my thinking goes to if I am having problems with my understanding of leadership right now in this place, what is going to happen say in April when Elaina comes?

I have been relying on Joshua 1:6 "Be strong and courageous because you will lead these people..." I pray for strength and courage.

But know it is your turn to comment.
What makes a good leader?
What gifts must a leader possess?
How do you address problems that come your way?

Hope

Friday, March 02, 2007

Hope for a brand new day
in which we can say
my God, "How Great thou art".

Hope in which we can to our part
to bring about salvation
to God's wonderful creation.

Hope for the coming one
who is the only Son
of our great and glorious God.

Hope is that we are the odd
to go against the grain of society
so that we ultimately practice sobriety.

Hope is that as God has a place
for us , he sheds His grace
upon us in this hour of need.

Hope is for which we beg, we plead
for the Savior's voice to say
that this is the day.

Been wondering about the hope for which we should have for the coming day of our Savior Lord and King Jesus Christ. For that is the day that He will bring about salvation to the His creation. I hope you are blessed in reading. Please comment and tell your thougths. Blessings
