Real Faith
I was reading through a bunch of old devotionals that I had wrote as a youth pastor. In one of these devotionals I said,
"Real Faith, is stepping up to the plate and knocking out of the park. Real Faith is breaking a 30 yard run for a touchdown."
I once said this to a bunch of teens at a youth retreat a couple of years ago. I wonder today if I believe this today. I am torn on two levels.
Is real faith the big homerun or the long run for the touchdown? Is real faith going all out in our in our encounters with those who don't believe? Are we to be aggressive and always seek a conversion in every conversation we have with people?
But on a whole different level is it the base hits or the one or two yard run that moves you closer to the ultimate goal? Are we just to have conversations with people in which we talk about daily life and how we react to it as a Christians? Hoping to show them Christ rather than telling them unless of course they ask.
The second series of thinking is from a book I'm reading called aka "Lost" This is a book that is making me wonder about how we do evangelism.
So I wonder what you think, should we be all out in telling people about Jesus Christ leading them to Him? Or should we just be ourselves and have normal conversations hoping to lead them to Christ eventually leading them through our actions?
Let me know what you think.
