Calling
In just about 8 days, I will begin the call that God has placed on my life. I belive that at an early age I was called to be Salvation Army officer. I accepted this call and entered into the Salvation Army Training School. Fully prepareed for what God would show as it pertains to this call for my life. But as the days approach a thought is slowly penetrating my consciousness.
Well in a few short days I will be commissioned as a Salvation Army officer(pastor). I believe wholeheartly that God has given this call on my life. But as the days pass and slowly become hours before commissioning, I am questioning, not the call on my life, but the ability in which I am able to fulfill this call.
Everyday I learn what is meant to be a Salvation Army officer, and I am challenged. Challenged to obey the call YES, but challenged even more that God would entrust me with this very specific calling for my life. I find myself in these coming days, with thoughts of inadequateness for this call. Thoughts that I, might be able to accept, engage, and fulfil this call is weighing heavily on my heart today.
But I wonder today, do you know the call that God has placed on your life? And if you do, what are your thoughts about how you are fulfilling this call. This is just something that has been on my mind and heart as of late. Please comment.
