Stretch of Imagination

Last night I woke up quite a few times with dreams of real sins that I have committed against God. They frightened me beyond anything I have ever experienced. I woke up in puddles of sweat and began shaking uncontrollably. I found myself praying for forgiveness.

Forgiveness is an interesting concept of the human mind. We as humans were created in the image of God, so this means that forgiveness is in our DNA. I think that forgiveness today, has become a stretch of our imagination. Do we truly forgive and forget?

Forgiveness has become a cliche. It has become to easy to say and pass over. The concept of forgiveness has become a passing thought. Forgive and forget for humans has turn to forgive at the moment and remember when needed. How easy is it for us as humans to remember the faults of others against us?

God is awesome in forgiving and forgetting forever. Holiness is a sense of being like God in attitude and action. May we be like God in our forgiveness of others.

Sin has an inescapable backwash. My problem is getting to repent properly, so that it comes home enough that I wont make the same mistake again. I find I spend more time praying against my own hard-heartedness than I do for forgiveness! But Basilea Schlink was right, a repentance-filled life is a joy-filled life, as the experience of being forgiven brings us right back to appreciating the depth of God's mercy, love and grace.

Lana totally agree with you repentance is the hardest thing I find to do. I'm constantly praying for forgiveness, and hoping for repentance. Repentance, I think is something that comes from the Holy Spirit and not necessarly out of our own action.
